Lynn Katz of San Ramon, CA, passed away on June 6, 2023 at the age of 82 with her daughter and son by her side. She was a beautiful loving wife of 60 years to Bill Katz, mother of Cheryl Bigman and Dan Katz (Samantha), and grandmother to Hallie Bigman, Emma Katz, and Jed Katz.

Lynn was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. Her passion growing up was music. She became an accomplished violinist, playing in many concerts around the city. After high school, Lynn attended San Francisco City College and got a job working for the State of California designing traffic signs. She first met Bill in Jr. high school at a youth group dance. They remained friends, but were later engaged to other people. Eventually, Bill and his fiancé broke off their engagement, and when he heard that Lynn's engagement was off as well, he gave her a call. They were married on September 2, 1962. Lynn and Bill moved to Mountain View, CA near Bill's job for a short time before purchasing their first home in Sunnyvale, CA. The following June, their first child Cheryl was born.

Family was everything to Lynn and she decided to become a stay-at-home mom. There were countless family gatherings. Lynn's parents, Charlotte and Michael Hyman, and Bill's parents, Tillie and Sam Katz, loved spending time visiting the family in Sunnyvale. Ten years after Cheryl was born, her brother Dan ("Danny" as Lynn called him) came along. Lynn continued to stay home to take care of the kids. She played an active role in their lives, becoming a Boy Scout den mother, soccer mom, and taxi driver to all of Cheryl and Dan's activities.

Once Cheryl and Dan were grown, Lynn decided to go back to school to become a paralegal. She worked in a family law practice for 5 years before retiring. After Bill retired, Lynn found a new passion in planning vacations. They went on several cruises and numerous road trips together which she absolutely loved. Becoming a grandmother to Hallie, Emma, and Jed was one of Lynn's greatest joys. She loved spending as much time with them as she could. Playing board games, doing arts & crafts, and watching old home movies were some of their favorite activities.

Lynn and Bill eventually decided to move to San Ramon, CA to be closer to their daughter Cheryl and granddaughter Hallie. Lynn spent the last year and a half of her life residing at the Reutlinger Community in Danville, CA. While she had many health challenges, she was still able to enjoy her favorite activities - attending music concerts, creating art & jewelry, playing (and usually winning) bingo, and getting glammed up at the hair & nail salon. Lynn will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In our hearts forever.
