Jonathan 'Jon' Ira Farer, 67, passed away suddenly Monday November 17, 2025, at San Francisco General Hospital.

Born and raised in his beloved Brooklyn, New York, Jon was the son of the late Dr. Jerome and Mrs. Renee Farer. He deeply valued his Jewish heritage and carried those traditions with him throughout his life.

A graduate of Hofstra University, Jon earned a bachelor's degree in actuarial science. Jonathan dedicated over forty years to leadership in customer experience. His distinguished career featured Senior Director of Customer Experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Intuit, and Service Titan, where he was widely respected for his expertise and mentorship. His recent work included an exciting collaboration with a family member, designing a new technology platform.

Jonathan will be remembered for his warm smile, his marvelous dad jokes and his unwavering ability to see the good in everyone. A lifelong fan of the New York Mets, Jonathan followed the team faithfully-especially through the excitement of the hot stove season and spring training. He also loved exploring the latest technology trends. His home was always filled with innovative gadgets and automation. Most of all, Jonathan adored spending time with his husband and their rescued fur babies, Roxy and Oliver, taking them on walks, playing, and caring for them with great affection.

Jonathan is survived by his loving husband of 25 years, Marvin Van Ekeren Jr. and his brother Steven (Karen) Farer, Esq. of New York. Jon was a proud uncle to nieces Suzanne Hamilton (Andrew) and Alison Farer Kaitz (Elliot), grandnieces Julie Daniella and Georgia Sapphira, all of New York. Jon also leaves behind his beloved aunt, cousins, dear friends and family.

Memorial services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. For those wishing to make a memorial donation, please consider a donation to your local animal shelter or the Susan G. Komen fund in honor of causes meaningful to his family.
