Reflecting on the year gone by with the approach of the High Holidays, we are thinking about our friend Zev Hymowitz z"l. He was a colleague, mentor, friend and so much more to so many people in the Bay Area Jewish Community. The Jewish Community Center San Francisco was fortunate to have him as a leader, supporter, and even gym member from the 1990s until his death at the end of July. For those who don't know, Zev was buried in Israel on August 1.
We invite you to an informal gathering here at the JCCSF in remembrance of Zev and in celebration of his life. On Friday September 14, we will hold our annual community Yizkor service from 11:30am to 12pm during which Zev's name will be read, along with the names of others who have passed.
Please join the service and/or for a gathering immediately following from 12pm to 1pm to share stories and raise a glass to the memory of our remarkable friend. As with a shiva, there's no formal invite list or program .. so please spread the word to anyone who might want to participate.
