ALKMENE GEORGIA BANDAR nee SMERNES
JULY 15, 1929 - April 13, 2018
Entered into peaceful rest in her home as per her wishes after an extended illness of Parkinson's Disease. A native of Napa. Napa High class of 1946. She attended her Napa High reunions through the 70th year.
Alkmene is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond "Bones" Bandar (12/23/17), Sisters Artemis Smernes, Electra Butler (Tom) and Elle Smernes, Brother Harry Smernes, Niece Janice Svendsen, Nephew Wayne Mulgrew. She is survived by Sister-in-law Nancy Smernes, Nieces Jeanette Mulgrew, Jeanne Godwin, Dori Jaroslow and Faylene Bandar. Nephew Nick Smernes. Several great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. Alkmene lived her life to the fullest with confidence, resiliency, and great joy. She also brought those qualities to the lives of all who knew her. She was an accomplished artist, avid race walker, swimmer, cyclist and world traveler. We would also like to thank the many loving caregivers that took care of her for several years through to the end of her life.
