With profound sadness we announce the passing of Katherine, our loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, on June 10, 2019. She was in the arms of her husband and surrounded by her family when she left us.
Katherine was born on August 7, 1964 in Los Angeles, California. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from San Francisco State University in 1994 and a Master of Science Degree from San Jose State University in 1996. She worked as a Deputy Probation Officer in the San Francisco Adult Probation Department for more than 20 years. She was admired by all for her ability to be both strict and compassionate when dealing with her probationers.
Katherine was a devoted wife and mother first and foremost. She absolutely adored her husband and daughter and cherished every moment with them. She was outgoing and had an engaging personality. She loved to travel and was gifted with the ability to make friends all over the globe.
Katherine loved to cook and got more enjoyment from watching others eat her delectable creations than she got from eating them herself.
Katherine was preceded in death by her father, Murray. She is survived by her husband, Leland, her daughter, Jordan, her mother, Emma, her sister, Elizabeth and husband David, her sister, Caroline and husband Doug, her granddaughters Ellyana and Erielle, her stepdaughters and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Chapel of the Chimes: Oakland, 4499 Piedmont Avenue at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be private.
