Andrea B. Arrick

May 14, 1953 - February 16, 2018

On Friday, February 16th, Andi Arrick passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Andi was the caring daughter of David and Sandra Belloff, loving wife to David, and inspiring mother to Zach and Dillan.

Andi graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and attended business school at UCLA. She met David, her partner of 40 years, at a talent show she had organized.

She began her career in advertising and marketing in Los Angeles, and moved to San Francisco with David to become Director of Marketing at Viacom.

Subsequently, Andi's entrepreneurial spirit led her to her 'second career,' where she combined her creative flair and love of art and culture with her ability to inspire others and give of herself.

Andi's passion for art transcended far beyond casual observation. To engage more deeply in what she loved and share her passion with others, she became a docent at the SFMOMA. Over the past ten years, her uniquely curated tours have touched thousands of art fans from around the world.

One of Andi's most proud accomplishments was the founding of "heArts." A program within College Track, "heArts" enabled high school girls to learn about culture, art and history by visiting exhibits and attending shows throughout the city. Dozens of young women participated in this program.

Andi's zest for life extended beyond our borders.

Vacations were not just vacations. She loved to plan extended trips around the world, scripted down to the minute. Upon her return to San Francisco, she would often say that she needed a vacation from the vacation.

Not surprisingly, Andi had an amazing aptitude for design. Even without formal training, Andi could pass for an interior designer, creatively crafting stunning homes for her family.

Andi will forever be remembered for her incredible spirit and her unyielding strength and courage in the face of adversity. Andi maintained a steadfast belief in her intuition and consistently channeled her creativity through new business ideas, parties, and events that were shared with and enjoyed by her vast and loyal group of friends. She was whip-smart and an undeniable force in every life she touched.

Andi is survived by her husband David, children Zach and Dillan, sister Kathy (Gary), brother-in-laws Robert (Jan) and Bradley (Danielle), five nieces and nephews and the entire Katznelson clan.

There will be a private family funeral on Tuesday. On Wednesday, February 21st, there will be a celebration of Andi's life held at SFMOMA at 6pm, followed by shiva at the family's home on Thursday, February 22nd at 6pm.

Please direct any charitable giving in Andi's honor to organizations that support the empowerment of young women or that support the arts.
