Annual Membership in Sinai Memorial Chapel is an act of Tzedakah. Annual dues of $36 or more help Sinai provide funeral and burial services for indigent Jews.
Sinai Memorial Chapel does not receive financial assistance from any outside institutions. Our main sources of funds are net revenues after operational expenses and annual dues received from individuals.
Our Chevra Kadisha mission includes assuring that any indigent Jew in the Bay Area will receive a proper Jewish burial. Sinai has extended its mission to giving financial support to Jewish religious and educational organizations so that Jewish education of children and adults continues to be highly valued.
Sinai's NextSteps Program is based on an understanding and respect for the phases of the Jewish bereavement cycle. NextSteps utilizes Jewish tradition and accredited clinical practice to successfully help mourners move through their grief, integrate their loss, and reinvest in life.
Instituting this important program as a part of Sinai's services has been enormously valuable to the community. Giving membership dues helps support this good work.
Sinai Memorial Chapel is one of only four Jewish funeral homes in the country that operates within the non-profit tradition. Contributions from caring Members help give back to the community in many holy ways.
